As a Woman, a Native American Jew, and as a Human Being - I am appalled by what is going on in the country and around the world right now.
I believe in light, love and peace. I also believe in the shadow and it's many shades. We have an opportunity to come together like never before, to awaken and accelerate healing. This is not soft talk, this is real talk.
With a steady upright physical and mental posture, allow evolution and growth.
Breathe wide and deep into your belly, rib cage and heart whenever you forget this.
Some days it's crystal clear what I want to say or what my mission is. Other day sI feel like I'm standing in a misty haze, unsure of my voice or direction.
We live in a culture of 'go' and 'do' - so it can sometimes seem like an inconvenience when life asks us to look closer and inquire about who and what we're becoming.
Whether thought or spoken, there is power in our words. When we notice ourselves slipping into negative thought forms, it’s up to us to shift gears and train ourselves to think happy and loving thoughts.
The chatter of our mind can get the best of us if we don't pay attention. But a lousy inner dialogue is counter-productive. How can you show up as your best self today? Tap into the power of your words and thoughts as often as possible, and I promise things will begin to shift.
Once yoga arrives in our life, we're forever changed.
Our connection, our breath, and our body fill up
with a deep desire to be spacious
and to feel whole more often than not.
We're in a world where self-love is lacking. We all know how to have ideas, do stuff, make stuff, share stuff, and keep ourselves busy. But what about honest and real SELF-LOVE?
We all need more of it in our lives - in our thoughts, in our words, in our cells, in our bones, and in our blood.
In my gut and my heart I believe we all want to grow and be better. We may not all act on it or know how to do this, yet that bright seed of a spark we're all born with never completely dies - no matter how much we've ignored it.
For me personally, this path has become my passion in every realm: health, career, relationships, creativity, communication, beauty, self-care, perceptions....
* I'm going to let this one roll out journal style. So excuse me in advance for the foul mouth language my one-of-a-kind mother taught me. Promote what you love not what you hate. Join me? 7 day challenge inside...
What happens when you strip the shit talker down to their bare-naked soul with nothing to hide behind? There's the same spark of light that we’re all born with, the same vulnerable humanity that we all share, and the same deep need to be loved and seen....
Music shapes emotion, adding to the ambience of life’s many soundtracks. It helps us drop into a moment and carries a tremendous force of creative power. Music feeds us—which is why music is especially effective during a yoga practice. It acts as a sponge that absorbs mental noise and directs energy toward the desired impact. I’ve witnessed it firsthand as a yoga teacher, longtime practitioner, and the creator of ‘Yoga Soundscape’, a yoga + meditation practice orchestrated to an eclectic range of live music. When you match movement and music thoughtfully, you bring harmony and insight to your body-mind-emotion-spirit connection that will ripple into every aspect of your life.
Sure, we’re all breathing or we wouldn’t be alive. But are you really breathing? Like, hydrating your cells, slowing down hasty impulses, dropping into the present moment type of breathing? This is something we can all practice in almost any setting: deep-present-nourishing inhales followed by slow-steady-softening exhales. Continuously.
